Scavengers one the most important part of Ecological System

Ranthambhore-Karauli, 1 Sept : As we all know Scavengers play important role in Ecological Blance in keeping the environment clean by eating dead animals, they gather across carcass and feed on it, but sometimes we only see vultures near the carcass of a dead animal.

But sometimes many other animals also come there to feed, like crows, jackal, foxes, some raptors, even sometimes wild bores. 

Basically animals like wolves prefer to hunt and eat but they are opportunistic animals as well, if a ready meal is nearby they can't resist themselves to eat it down. 

A seen which was observed a few days back vultures were the first comers to the feeding table, then came wolves, after that some wild bores entered the scene then some jackals and so on.

Wildlife Expert Dr. Dau Lal Bohra said "They provide cleaning services in the ecosystem. Awareness of vultures and other scavengers should be necessary in the society."

Population of Vultures is reviving in many places after ban on the prohibited drug diclofenac.. but conservation of the species is very necessary as they are still in the critically endangered and endangered classification by IUCN.

On a single spot Red Headed or King Vulture (Sarcogyps calvus), Indian Vulture (Gyps indicus), Egyptian Vulture (Neophron percnopeterus) were seen.

Wild bores undisturbed by the presence of the wolves also enjoyed the meal co-existence of prey and predator on same feeding ground has been observed someway or the other.

Though wolves doesn't like to share their meal with anybody, therefore other have to wait for their turn.
