आज अंतराष्ट्रीय जैव विविधता दिवस के अवसर पर उपवन संरक्षक वन विभाग सवाई माधोपुर व पथिक लोक सेवा समिति के सयुंक्त तत्वावधान में कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया गया।

कार्यक्रम की सुरुवात जिला कलेक्टर सुरेश कुमार ऑला द्वारा जिला कलेक्ट्री परिसर में से रैली को हरी झंडी दिखा कर की गई, रैली बजरिया मैंन मार्केट में से होती हुई महावीर पार्क  में पहुची, पार्क में विभाग व संस्था द्वारा जूनियर व सीनियर वर्ग के स्कूल व कॉलेज के बच्चों की पोस्टर प्रतियोगिता आयोजित की गई।

कार्यक्रम के मुख्य अतिथि जिला प्रमुख श्रीमती सुदामा मीना, अध्यक्षता नगरपरिषद चैयरमैन विमल महावर विशिष्ट अतिथि उपवन संरक्षक जयराम पांडेय, पूर्व छात्रसंघ अध्यक्ष डिग्गी प्रसाद मीना व अतिथि संस्था सचिव मुकेश सीट, वन अधिनस्थ कर्मचारी संघ राजस्थान के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष भूपेन्द्र जादौन , राजकीय पीजी कॉलेज के व्याख्याता रामलाल बैरवा, अध्यापिका श्रीमती विजयलक्ष्मी अग्रवाल, सेनानिवर्त फौजी हुसेन खान, सेवादल कांग्रेस के प्रदेश महासचिव सलमान रंगरेज, रणथम्भोर स्कूल आर्ट के एम डी परासर व वन विभाग से रेंजर सुरेश गुर्जर, फोरेस्टर ताराचंद व संस्था सदस्य भवानी शंकर, सन्नी वर्मा, ऋषि मीना, सपना जोलिया, सविता शर्मा के अलावा वन कर्मचारी स्कूल के बच्चे व संस्था सदस्य व आमजन मौजूद रहे।

इस अवसर कार्यक्रम का मंच संचालन वन अधीनस्थ कर्मचारी संघ राजस्थान के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष भूपेंद्र जादौन ने किया। सभी अतिथियों का स्वागत वन अधिकारीयों व संस्था सदस्यो द्वारा किया गया। 

कार्यक्रम की सुरुवात करते हुवे संस्था सचिव मुकेश सीट ने कर्यक्रम में पधारे सभी अतिथियों,विद्यार्थियों, संस्था सदस्यो व वन कर्मचारियों का स्वागत करते हुवे पर्यावरण संरक्षण के अलावा वन्यजीवो के संरक्षण करने में सभी को धरातल पर योगदान देने की अपील की। कार्यक्रम में कॉलेज के व्यख्याता राम बैरवा ने जैव विविधता के बारे में संक्षिप्त में जानकारी दी साथ ही युवाओं को ज्यादा से ज्यादा पर्यावरण के संरक्षण में अपनी अहम जिमेदारी निभाने की अपील की, मुख्य अथिति जिला प्रमुख ने ओर कार्येक्रम की अध्यक्षता कर रहे नगर परिषद चेयरमैन ने ऐसे आयोजन जिले में होते रहे चाहिए इस कार्यक्रम के आयोजक वन विभाग और संस्था को धन्येवाद दिया। और सभी को प्रकति ओर जीव जंतुओं का संरक्षण करने की अपील की, उप वन संरक्षक जयराम पांडे जी ने मानव जीवन मे जैव विविधता को समझते हुवे विस्तार पूर्वक समझाया छोटे बड़े जीवो की कई प्रकार की प्रजातियां होती है जिनका पर्यावरण संरक्षण, जलवायु परिवर्तन, ऑक्सिजन, ग्लोबलवार्मिंग आदि में जैव विविधता के महत्त्व बारे में बताया। मानव जीवन को बचाने के लिए जैव विविधता का संरक्षण करना अति आवश्यक हो गया है।

 

                               

पोस्टर प्रतियोगिता के सीनियर वर्ग में पीजी कॉलेज की बीए अंतिम वर्ष की छात्रा प्रतिभा गुप्ता द्वितीय स्थान व प्रीति खनगवार प्रथम स्थान ओर जूनियर वर्ग में प्रथम स्थान पर स्टेप बाई स्टेप स्कूल के चिन्मय शर्मा, द्वितीय स्थान शिवांक गुप्ता व तृतीय स्थान कशिश मंगल सिनियर सेकेंड्री कुतलपुरा जाटान रही। सभी विजेताओं को अतिथियों द्वारा पुरुस्कार दिया गया साथ ही रैली में सम्मलित होने वाले सभी विद्यार्थियों व संस्था सदस्यों को भी सांत्वना पुरस्कार दिए गए।

कार्यक्रम के अंत जिला प्रमुख व नगर परिषद चेयरमैन, उप वन संरक्षक संस्था सदस्यों द्वारा संस्था पथिक लोक सेवा समिति का "पक्षी बचाओ परिंडा लगाओ अभियान" की शुरुआत पार्क में परिंडा लगाकर की गई।

MP model to be applied in Tiger Estimation-2022

Jaipur:- Madhypradesh's neighboring states will now apply MP model in the estimation of Tigers, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra already working on the project as per sources.

This time there will be a paperless estimation of Tigers during All India Tiger Estimation-2022, forest staff is being trained on a regular basis and this time Master Trainers are Junior Officers instead of Senior Officers. 

All the information regarding animals will be uploaded Online, the estimation will be carried out in 4 categories, in category 1st pugmarks, scats and starch marks on trees will be noted down to know the presence of the animal. in second category (WII) Dehradun scientists will study the satellite imagery data of the area. In third category, camera trap images will be taken and then the pictures will be scientifically compared. In 4th category, population estimation will be carried out for the Tigers who are inside the Tiger Reserves.

MP is known as both Tiger State and Leopard State as well, the data which will be collected will be uploaded to a mobile app and finally will reach to the Scientists of WII. Wildlife Institute of India, WWF and Forest Department Expert Officials have this time given training to Master Trainers and then the Master Trainers will train other staff at various levels.

There is already a commitment to increase the Global Tiger Population by 2022. How far is Rajasthan, right now current population of tigers in the State is just over 100, and this viable 100+ figure reached only in 2021? On the other side tiger population estimation of MP in 2018 was 526 tigers which is almost 20% population of India's wild tigers.

Rajasthan also in the past 10 years faced the worse Tiger Management, more than 45 tigers disappeared and Nobody knows where they've gone? A Tiger MT-1 disappeared from right under the noses of monitoring staff and from inside the 80 square kilometer enclosure. 

Madhyapradesh also has more than 6 Tiger Reserves while Rajasthan has only 3, 4th one Ramgarh is not yet notified, while places and rich forest belts like Kumbhalgarh are kept aside, fortunately now they are taking care of Kumbhalgrah also whose proposed area is huge 1955 square kilometer. 

It will be worth watching how they will conduct Tiger Estimation for 2022.

Ranthambhore, 4 Sept: Neighboring Ranthambhore National Park and under National Chambal Ghariyal Sanctuary Palighat is a wonderful place where you can see Ghariyal, Crocodiles, Turtles and and many Aquatic birds.

Ghariyal is a critically endangered species which can be seen in specific parts of Chambal River in Rajasthan, and after Dhaulpur, Palighat is the most popular place where one can easily see Ghariyals in their natural habitat.

Other species is Indian Marsh Crocodile which is though common but it's worth watching them basking in the sun on the sandy shores of Chambal and Parwati River. 

There are basically 8 number of turtles 4 softshell and 4 hard shell found in Chambal Ghariyal Sanctuary, namely red crowned roofed turtle, three striped roofed turtle, crowned river turtle, Indian tent turtle (all hard shell turtles), while Indian narrow headed softshell turtle, Indian softshell turtle, Indian flapshell turtle, Indian peacock softshell turtle (all are soft shell turtles) in which Indian narrow headed or Chitra indica is the largest.

Many aquatic birds and waders are also found here both resident and migratory.

The main threat to their habitat is illegal sand excavation, most of these species lay their eggs in sand and when people illegally extract sand the nest of these animals and birds gets destroyed.

Chambal is home to another elusive creature Smooth Coated Otter, these are also known as wolves of the river and aren't afraid of having small conflicts with  crocodiles even. Smooth coated otter is listed as vulnerable under IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature)

And if you move further to Dhaulpur area there is chance that you can see Critically Endangered Gangetic River Dolphin. A very small population of Gangetic River Dolphin exists in Rajasthan.

In evening and early morning there are chances of watching Fox and Jackal playing and wandering in search of food. 

Indian Skimmer is always on the wishlist of Birders and Chambal provides you ample of opportunity to record this bird.

River lapwing a Near Threatened species will amaze you on the shores of Chambal. Altogether it's a adventurous experience to visit Chambal and especially Palighat and Dholpur whenever you're on vist to Ranthambhore.

Kota, Bundi, Jhalawar, and Chittorgarh 4 Sept: Today is the International vulture awareness day, and if we talk about Tiger Reserves, MHTR leads the chart. 

The Ravines of Chambal are one of the largest active nesting sties of Indian Vulture in South Asia, also here you can see Egyptian Vulture, White Rumped Vulture, King or Red Headed Vulture and Sometimes Migratory Eurasian Griffon and Himalayan Griffon. 

In Kota Gapernath of Borabas Range and Gradiya Mahadev of Jawahar Sagar Range are the best places to see vultures. 

While in Jhalawar just adjoining territorial Gagron Range there is cliff named as Gidhh Karai (Means Ravine of Vultures), this the active nesting site of Vultures in Jhalawar. 

While Chittorgarh's Rawatbhata and Bhaisrodgarh also have colonies of Vultures. Throughout the upstream of Jawahar Sagar you can watch vultures either resting in the cliffs or feeding their chicks.

As the sun rises and air starts to fill with warm air one by one they leave their nest and soar high and high into the skies. 

During Wintery a Migratory season cousins of Indian Vulture, the Eurasian and Himalayan Griffons visits these places. MHTR is the only place in Rajasthan where you can watch vultures while taking a boat ride. 

Bundi along with Baran has also good number of Vultures, Forest of Shahbaad of Baran District is also vulture habitat.

Meanwhile White Rumped and King or Red headed vultures are quite rare, all vultures found here are categorised as Critically Endangered while Egyptian Vulture is categorised as Endangered.

Though slowly and gradually their numbers are increasing after ban on the drug known as diclofenac which earlier proved fatal for vultures.

Still there is a need to develop a serious conservation action plan for vultures, if we want them to see soaring high in future.

Udaipur, 3 Sept :  On asking  Has T-24 Ustad's behavior Changed in Captivity? 

"It's a million dollar question as nobody at least we don't it's answer but we are quite sure that something has changed. Said some authorities from Sajjangarh Biological Park on non disclosure of name.  

Ustad was 9 year old when he was shifted to Sajjangarh Biological Park after he has been alleged of killing four people at Ranthambhore National Park. Now he is more than 15 years old.

Ustad has been kept in a non display area of the bio-park where tourist can't see him only authorised Forest Staff and Veterinary Doctors and his caretaker are allowed to go to the holding area.

Ustad (means Master) was one of the very majestic and famous Tiger of Ranthambhore, because of his bulky appearance he probably got his nick name, his captivity led National as well as international agitation by Wildlife Lovers.

Sources told that earlier T-24 aka Ustad was quite aggressive when he was shifted to Sajjangarh Biological Park. But slowly and gradually he got familiar with his caretaker.

Now when the caretaker calls his name he responds to it, he knows that his caretaker is calling and recognises him. Still if anyone new comes to that area is simply greeted by an angry roar of Ustad.

His food menu is still soup and minced meat due to his digestive problem, but he is very active fit and fine said the sources.

Ustad was brought to the Bio-park on 16th May 2015, he was operated on 4th Dec 2015, since then Ustad is taking a specialized diet and care. 

On several occasions there were rumours that Ustad will be released and get shifted to a larger enclosure, but all vain, till now No decision has been taken for Ustad's release while he getting older making it more difficult to shift a tiger of old age. 

It seems he will Stay inside the Same Park until he will take his last breath, thanks to some so called local politicians and hotel lobby and their pressure Ustad is under lifetime imprisonment, said some wildlife lovers. 

The current situation intimates that, It will be only a dream of some wildlife lovers that Ustad can still be released. 

Long Live Ustad... His Legacy continues from Sultan (still missing) to his cubs T-117 (female) and T-118 (female) and their little cubs.
